Weightloss is Trending

I just wanted to take a moment and express how excited I am by the amounts of people who seem to be making better choices for their health right now. One thing that is SO GREAT (and maybe not so great, at the same time) about social media is that you get to know all kinds of things about people that you rarely, if not never, see. I have been so encouraged by the amounts of people on my Facebook wall with exclamations about healthier choices they're making, and/or how much weight they have lost. Looking at my Facebook, you wouldn't know there was an obesity epidemic at all! I like that kind of shift!

To those of you out there who are experiencing success in a healthier you:

In other news: I weighed in at 136.6 today. One pound away from my goal!

Is there anything new in the world of weight loss that you have noticed lately? What encourages you to keep going, or to get up and go at all?

  1. You encourage me! But now I've started adding lbs so I've started exercising... grrr you know my aversion to sweating?

  2. You're so sweet to me:)
AND- I'm guessing your trainer will help you find a say to NOT hate sweating anymore...once it becomes a bit of a habit (and you find the things you actually like doing), I've found it starts being much more enjoyable!

  3. I'm going through a period of much change right now, so I'm finding it difficult to stay on track about things. But when I am feeling discouraged or like I want to quit, you really are that encouragement!! People like you and my sister and other real-live people who have done it.
That and reading articles online about how in ten years, 50% of Americans will be obese. Or being at my job and seeing how things like diabetes really does affect your whole entire life--and how that is very preventable in a lot of people. These sorts of things help.
Spring time weather helps, too. :)

    1. Right?! I want to be outside all the time always. I can't wait for sports this summer;)
Thanks for finding encouragement in me. I can't even tell you how good that makes me feel! I know how overwhelming weight loss can be. But every little good decision is a step in the right direction! Keep making the little ones, and eventually they'll turn into the big ones:)

  4. You know that diets don't really work-at least in the long run. A simple recipe for getting fit is changing your habits: eating healthy food and exercising.

    1. absolutely! That's why I always have such a hard time responding when people ask me if I'm "on a diet". This isn't a diet, this is a lifestyle! I just happen to look better because of it;) Thanks for your comment!
